Blog moved to Django
12/13/2010This blog is now running on django. I used django-blog-zinnia and django-cms for a few things. I've been wanting to learn some more Python web development, so my playground naturally has been this website. So far... Awesome. I can't wait to use this for a work project. After so much time spent in Java, it's quite a change to return to a less onerous language.
Anyway, there's nothing wrong with Wordpress, but I needed something more hackable. I'm keeping my source in github and writing custom Django apps for things like /pgify . It is way more fun. Things like Zinnia's wordpress import make me giggle.
I've killed off the leemba.com domain, too, since nobody seems to care about a clustered monitoring system. The demo is still up at Amazon, thanks to their free micro EC2 instance offer. I still use Leemba and I'm planning on keeping it around for a good while, though.
Best thing about the new environment? I can program in Emacs and be productive again, and I don't need a 1gig virtual-memory-hogging IDE. Good times.
